May 2014 saw Anthony Joshua compete in his first fight under the Wembley arch. As the undercard before headliners Carl Froch and George Groves took to the ring, the Brit came face to face with Matt Legg and in front of an empty Wembley crowd, Joshua won the fight in 83 seconds. This was his sixth win on the bounce since embarking on a career as a professional boxer and it was that day that really kick-started his prolific run.Joshua has since maintained his unbeaten record and will claim his just rewards when he returns to Wembley for his second visit on Saturday night but this time as an involvement in the main event. After a long wait, Joshua will meet one of the world’s greatest in Wladimir Klitchko in the hopes of defending his IBF world heavyweight title whilst also aiming to get his hands on the WBA strap.Back in 2014, the 27-year-old entertained a small crowd of spectators as others filtered in to watch Froch and Groves. This time, all eyes will be on him and Klitschko. After his first Wembley appearance, people backed Joshua to achieve bigger and better things but promoter Eddie Hearn hit the nail right on the head with his reaction following his victory over Legg.Standing ringside, the 37-year-old predicted what the future held for Joshua to Sky Sports Box Office and couldn’t have been more accurate: “It was a great experience for him,” Hearn said.

“Great to be out in Wembley.

“And I believe in two or three years time, he will be headlining here himself.”

Well, it seems Hearn’s crystal ball has definitely worked its magic as Joshua will indeed be headlining Wembley Stadium on Saturday, short of three years after his prediction, in a fight that could really set the Brit on his way to reaching the top.
