Goldberg's recent return to the WWE went from a one-off match to promote the WWE 2K17 video game and exploded into being part of one of the marquee matches at WrestleMania 33.

He's only just recently parted away from the company earlier this month when he lost the Universal championship to Brock Lesnar at The Showcase of The Immortals, but he hasn't ruled out a return once more when the time is right.

There was once talk of him possibly main eventing WrestleMania with Lesnar, but that spot was given to Roman Reigns and The Undertaker instead, as it would turn out to be The Deadman's last match in the WWE.

Speaking of The Big Dog, Goldberg revealed his true feelings about his character and how WWE is booking him on a recent episode of Eric Bischoff's podcast. He said he doesn't understand the hate which Reigns is receiving from the fans, and that he actually feels sorry for him about it.

He said, via comicbook.com: "These fans are completely different! When I went out there ... you always have an alternative worst case scenario for what you're going to say and if you don't you're not prepared. The crowd these days, they like to be the ones who say "hey, look at me." They like to dictate what's going on and when they voice their opinion, it's deafening.

"And they, for some reason man, have a disdain for him that is completely misguided because as you say, he oozes talent and oozes star quality. He's like Rock, physically and ... he's a good guy, too. How the crowd thing is handled is, I don't know. I feel for this guy. I just don't get it."

As for what he wishes WWE would do in this situation, Goldberg is echoing what many fans have been hoping the company will do every single time The Big Dog appears on Monday Night RAW, embrace the hate.

"It seems to me that the natural heat that he has is either going to work for him or against him and I kind of think deep down inside that's what's going to happen. I think that at some point they'll embrace the heat and he will embrace that reaction."

It's almost been three years since The Shield split on Reigns controversial rise to the main event began, but he's still receiving pretty much the same reaction from the fans. However, he's also making a lot of money for the WWE, so as long as that keeps happening, nothing is going to change.
