The Hardy Boyz made their return to the WWE earlier this month at WrestleMania 33 and captured the RAW Tag Team championship, much to the joy of many fans watching the event around the world.

Since then, they've gone from strength to strength, and there's even heighten talk of them possibly using the Broken gimmick in the WWE, but we may have to wait a little while longer for that day to arrive.

However, one thing we might not have to wait much longer to see now is one of The Hardy Boyz in the main event title picture once more.

According to Sportskeeda: "Jeff Hardy may be all set to face the reigning, defending, undisputed WWE Universal champion, Brock Lesnar, in the near future."

This is huge considering Jeff Hardy only just recently returned to the WWE alongside his brother, Matt, and the fact The Charismatic Enigma has two violations of the company's Substance Abuse and Drug Testing Policy on his record.

Jeff hasn't had a main event push in the WWE since the last time he was with the company back in 2008 and 2009 when he won the WWE championship once, and the World Heavyweight championship twice in that time period.

However, we may still be waiting a little while longer before seeing him competing against Brock Lesnar for the Universal championship, as several things need to take place before that happens.

First of all, it is speculated The Beast will have a SummerSlam program later this year with Braun Strowman with the title on the line, meaning The Charismatic Enigma will have to wait until The Monster Among Men has been given his main event push before he receives his.

Secondly, earlier this week, it was announced that Lesnar would defend his Universal title for the first time since winning it at WrestleMania at WWE's newest pay-per-view 'Great Balls of Fire' in July. Jeff could be given his shot here, but this feels a little bit too soon considering The Hardy Boyz are yet to use the Broken gimmick together in WWE.

Finally, speaking of The Hardy Boyz, it feels like they would need to split up for Jeff to have his main event push, allowing Matt to go off for his own feuds as Broken Matt, while Jeff stays, or reverts back to, The Charismatic Enigma. It's too soon for them to split up since they've only just returned earlier this month.

Nevertheless, it would be great to see Jeff back in the main event picture in the WWE after almost ten years away, taking his death-defying stunts to Suplex City for a unique matchup and feud against Lesnar that we haven't seen since The Beast first debuted in the WWE in the early 2000s.
