Chelsea are just a whisker away from bringing the Premier League title back to Stamford Bridge. Given how poor the club were last season, it would represent a huge turnaround for the Blues.

What's more impressive is that Antonio Conte will have masterminded the success in his first season in English football, which is no mean feat for any manager regardless of their pedigree.

With that in mind, and a return to the Champions League on the horizon, you would think that every player involved would be keen on remaining in west London next term, but sadly that may not be the case for everybody.

Even since their nightmare campaign last term, Chelsea's key player Eden Hazard has been linked with a move to Spain, and specifically Real Madrid, and while he has insisted he is happy where he is, the links and rumours refuse to go away.

And with the business end of the season now in full swing, Conte was quizzed on the possibility of being able to hold onto the Belgian international beyond the summer transfer window.

It would seem that Conte is not entirely confident at being able to hang on to his star man, after confirming to the Daily Mirror that he cannot guarantee that he will still be there next term.

“I think that it’s impossible for me to take this responsibility, but not only for Eden but for every single player. In this situation it’s the club who have the final decision," Conte said.

“I don’t think that this idea is in the mind of the club (to sell Hazard). I think we have to improve the team, to reinforce the team. But you know that, in football, there is also the will of the player. The future, I haven’t a crystal ball, no.”

Real Madrid are tipped to embark on a massive summer spending spree this summer with the likes of David De Gea, Paulo Dybala or Kylian Mbappe all being linked with moves to the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, Hazard could end up costing Los Blancos in the region of €100million, and if he was to move on it would either be for a world record fee, or something close to that.

Clearly, Chelsea would likely prefer to hang onto Hazard as money is never an issue for them anyway, and the task of filling his boots would be an unenviable task for both the club and whoever replaces him.
