It’s a huge week for Zack Ryder as he has two big milestones coming up.

After being injured in December which put an end to the Hype Bros team alongside Mojo Rawley, the former United States Champion finally got back inside of a WWE ring at the Performance Center in his bid to make a comeback on SmackDown LIVE.

10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY

However, May 1, 2017, will also mark Ryder’s 10-year anniversary in the company where he’s been on the main roster in a number of roles.

Before the Hype Bros were even a thing, he had universal support from fans when he went from Internet Champion to United States Champion, and was even an Edge-head alongside Curt Hawkins.

WWE recently followed Ryder’s journey as he achieved that impressive feat in the Z! Comeback Story, and Chris Jericho shared a hilarious story of how they became friends.

HILARIOUS STORY

Everybody loves Jericho; there have been plenty of stories of how he is backstage where he’s been pictured at the back of a WWE bus drinking and having good times with The Usos and Dean Ambrose, while attention was also drawn to another picture that went viral where he was pictured alongside Roman Reigns, Bray Wyatt and more where they were donning Luke Harper shirts as part of his fan club.

During the Ryder series, which you can watch below, plenty of WWE stars both past and present shared their stories of Ryder and the impact he has had both in their lives and in the WWE – and it’s Jericho’s story which sticks out the most.

He revealed the way he and Ryder became friends is because he punched him in the face in London.

Jericho explained; “We’ve been through a lot together…like when I punched you in the face in London.

“Because, uh, every time I asked how you were doing, you answered ‘Just chilling, bro.’

“I was like, what does that mean, ‘Just chilling?’ And I’m not your bro.

“So, I gave you a punch to your mug and you went, ‘What did you do that for?’ and I went, ‘I don’t know, I’m sorry,’ and we’ve been friends ever since.”

That’s probably exactly what you’d expect from somebody like Jericho, and it would have been just as funny being there when that moment went down.

There’s a lesson to be learnt here; don’t tell Jericho you’re just chilling, bro.
