St. Totteringham’s Day will be cancelled this year after Tottenham Hotspur beat Arsenal 2-0 at White Hart Lane.It is mathematically impossible for Arsenal to finish ahead of their north London rivals following today’s derby defeat. For Spurs, 22 years of mockery are over. They’ve done it at last. The sides couldn’t be split in the first half, although the hosts had the better opportunities to score.Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen both squandered glorious opportunities to give Tottenham the lead. But the game changed in three second half minutes. Alli made it 1-0 in the 55th minute when he turned the ball home after Eriksen’s shot was saved by Petr Cech.Tottenham wasted no time adding another. Harry Kane got the ball from the restarted and made his way into the box, where he was tripped by Gabriel.Kane made the most of the Arsenal defender's contact and referee Michael Oliver pointed to the spot. The England international got to his feet and tucked the ball away.

Not a good day for Wenger

Spurs fans immediately starting trolling Arsene Wenger with chants of: “Arsene Wenger, we want you to stay!”

The Frenchman’s future at Arsenal is unclear, although he is expected to sign a two-year contract extension. But you can understand there are a growing number of Arsenal supporters who want him to leave, despite the Gunners reaching the FA Cup final.

Tottenham supporters were in full voice as they secured a win that keeps their title hopes - as feint as they may be following Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Everton - alive.

Tottenham fans shouted abuse at Ozil

Mesut Ozil bore the brunt of their chants. The German was seen kissing Tottenham fans as he prepared to take a corner in the first half.

That wasn’t all. Another clip shows Ozil reacting to yet more abuse from the home supporters, this time by wiping the Arsenal badge on his shirt.

Watch the footage below.

Arsenal supporters will be pleased with Ozil’s gesture. But his performance? Once again in a big game, the playmaker was largely anonymous.

Top four hopes
