Ever since WrestleMania and the return of the Hardy Boyz to the WWE, the fans have been wondering if the Broken Matt Hardy gimmick will ever arrive in the WWE.

Hardy didn't immediately bring the gimmick to the company where they made their name due to outside issues surrounding it.

Finally arrived?

With legal issues surrounding the usage of the gimmick, it is understandable that WWE were cautious about using it.

As a result, since their return, the Hardys have returned under their previous gimmick as Team Extreme and have appeared to be in normal frames of mind.

That was however until Sheamus and Cesaro launched a savage attack on them after they defended their RAW Tag Team Championships at Payback.

The Hardys were left laying after the brutal attack and 24 hours later on RAW, not only would the duo explain their actions, but they would confronted by the Hardys.

Matt and Jeff would come to the stage and with Matt doing all of the talking, he would give off the persona of his old gimmick.

The biggest indicator that WWE appear ready to allow the Broken gimmick to overtake the team however was when Hardy responded to the attack by Sheamus and Cesaro.

Hardy would siply claim that "our response is...." then both men would do the signature delete hand gesture before running towards the ring.

Sheamus and Cesaro would leave the ring before the Hardys could get there, but they may face an entirely new problem if Broken Matt and Brother Nero arrive on RAW.

Start of something new

The Broken Hardys gimmick was arguably the biggest wrestling story of 2016 and is largely considered as the reason why the company hired the duo back in the first place.

Using it, the two entertained the crowds of TNA, ROH and many smaller independent circuit promotions.

If it is let loose within WWE and the two can use it with the freedom they wish, it could give the RAW Tag Team Division a whole new outlook.

The gimmick is dark, entertaining and funny, and while WWE fans so far have only been treated to slight nods to the gimmick.

However it could be about to take over the WWE with rumours of a main event push for Jeff Hardy and clear signs of a character change from Matt.
