Fans are still disappointed this week after UFC president Dana White was forced to postpone the proposed light heavyweight championship clash between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones last week.Their highly anticipated rematch was targeted for the UFC 214 event in Anaheim, California where the likes of Cyborg Justino and Tyron Woodley could also feature on the stacked card, but that looks very sketchy now.Bones had been offered the chance to get his rematch following his one-year suspension from USADA and now DC is growing tired of waiting for an answer as common knowledge dictates that Jones could prefer a tune-up fight rather than fighting Cormier right away. That was then, this is now. With the unfolding landscape, the champion could be defending his title against Jimi Manuwa instead of his bitter rival, but he’s dead set on avenging his only professional loss and keeps lobbing shots at the former champion.Cormier was defending himself against allegations that he cheated during the weigh in he had at UFC 210. Soon, Bones joined in and that is really all it takes for these two to start arguing in front of fans on Twitter. The two had a Twitter altercation a few weeks ago, with the biggest conflict between the two surrounding Cormier’s repeated allegations against Jones where he claimed the latter has been caught using steroids by USADA.Fans have witnessed a below-par performance when he managed to overcome Ovince Saint-Preux. He didn’t look nearly as imposing, but he still won the bout which is what he argues truly matters in this discussion.

DC poked this nerve again when he joked about Jones’ use of “pop” in his tweets and even his rival was impressed with their back and forth. Then Bones promptly pointed out his win in the head-to-head column.

You can understand why Jones would by getting tired of this dance and cannot defend himself how he knows best, in the ring. On the other side, Cormier knows the biggest money fight available is Jones, so expect more call-outs before UFC 214.

Animosity like this is absolutely fueled in bad blood. It is not strange to see two fighters talk smack before a big fight, but these sorts of meeting are the result of two people that literally cannot stand the sight of each other.

There will have to be a resolution soon because if things don’t get handled quickly, DC and Bones might just settle this outside of some UFC event in the parking lot.
