Monaco would have been very happy with their start against Juventus in their Champions League semi-final clash.

The home side had started promisingly but couldn’t quite find their way past Gigi Buffon in the early stages.

And they were made to pay when Juventus scored one of the best team goals of the season.

When the ball was played up to Paulo Dybala inside his own half, there was very little danger.

But the Argentine produced a beautiful little flick into the path of Dani Alves to start a counter-attack.

Alves ran past the halfway line before playing a one-two with Gonzalo Higuain. As the Brazilian edged into the box, it appeared as though he was running into a dead end.

However, he showed incredible vision to backheel the ball perfectly into the path of Higuain, who slotted the ball home to round off an incredible team move.

Twitter reacts

As you’d expect, Twitter went pretty crazy after Higuain’s strike. Gary Lineker probably summed it up best with his immediate tweet following the strike. Check out his, and everyone else’s brilliant reaction:

Higuain’s strike was the only goal of an entertaining first-half as the two sides look to qualify for the final in Cardiff.

Both Monaco and Juve are well aware that, if they manage to progress to the final, they will likely have Cristiano Ronaldo and co. standing in their way.

Ronaldo scored a hat-trick against Atletico Madrid in Los Blancos’ semi-final first leg and will no doubt be sitting back and enjoying Monaco and Juventus do battle.

However, after seeing Juventus’ incredible team goal, they will probably be fearing facing them at the Millennium Stadium.
