Things are going to get interesting in Dallas later this month.

UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic is prepared to make his second career title defense when he takes on Junior dos Santos for the second time under the UFC banner. Their initial meeting back in December of 2014 saw 'JDS' win a unanimous decision.

This time around, however, Miocic enters the fight as the undisputed heavyweight king of the world and is looking to keep that strap around his waist, in addition to continuing on his four-fight knockout streak.

Miocic recently commented on his upcoming title defense against the Brazilian during a media conference call to promote the UFC 211 pay-per-view (PPV), where he stated that both he and dos Santos know somebody is going to get knocked out (quotes via LowKickMMA):

“The lesson I learned, not even really a lesson as much as, just knowing that I belong,” Miocic said. “I belong, that I can hang anyone. I went five rounds with a former champ, a guy who has been a knockout artist and I went five rounds with him, I know I belong. I know that I’m not going anywhere, and look at where I’m at now.”

“We both know that someone’s getting KO’d,” Miocic said. “I’m walking out with the belt still, so, it’s going to happen. I’m not going to predict what round, but I’m walking out with the belt.”

As previously mentioned, Miocic is on a four-fight win streak in which he has finished each of those victories via knockout. He won the heavyweight title back in May of last year when he knocked out Fabricio Werdum in the first round of their fight in Brazil.

His last Octagon appearance saw him make his first career title defense against Alistair Overeem in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, where he won via first round knockout.

Dos Santos hasn't been in the Octagon for over a year, but he did win his last fight against Ben Rothwell via unanimous decision.

If there's one thing we know for sure, it's that both of these men can deliver huge knockouts when the lights are shining down on them inside the cage, so we can expect some fireworks between these two world class big men.

Miocic and "Cigano" will meet in the main event of UFC 211 live on PPV from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas on May 13, 2017. It will also feature a strawweight title bout in the main event between Joanna Jędrzejczyk and Jessica Andrade.
