Hull manager Phil Brown has asked the fans to be patient as he bids to strengthen his squad having missed out on a couple of targets.
Brown has been frustrated in his efforts to bring a striker to the KC Stadium with Marc Antoine Fortune opting for a move to Celtic and Fraizer Campbell set for a move to Sunderland. He has, though, confirmed the club have made a "firm and substantial bid" for Fulham striker Bobby Zamora.
"We're disappointed but as resilient people we dust ourselves down and get on with the next one and hopefully that will whet the whistle. There's constant work going on behind the scenes," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.
"It's difficult getting the right players I must admit. But we're not panicking, fans need to know there's still a lot of work going on in the background."
