Bratt cools Adams fears

Port Vale chairman Bill Bratt has denied talk of a dispute with Micky Adams and expects the new manager to sign his contract this week.

Adams was appointed Vale boss at the end of May but, despite starting work at the beginning of July, he is still yet to put pen to paper on a contract and has been linked with the managerial vacancy at Southampton.

"There's no dispute at all. We are just waiting for Micky's solicitors to verify things." Bratt told the Sentinel.

"Everything has been agreed. I believe Micky is a man of his word and he will sign.

"People will always be interested in a manager of his calibre. Hopefully we can get the contract sorted for this weekend."
