Boss Nigel Clough hopes young Arsenal midfielder Mark Randall will link up with Derby on their pre-season tour of Devon this week.

Clough sees the 19-year-old as a possible long-term loan signing for the forthcoming season and plans to play him in two of the club's three friendlies in the South West.

Derby face Yeovil on Tuesday, Torquay on Thursday and Exeter on Saturday.

Clough said: "I think we've got the okay from Arsenal that he will be joining up with us on Tuesday and hopefully he will feature in two out of the three games, probably Tuesday and Saturday.

"This week will be ideal to have a look at him with a view to a loan - maybe to January or maybe for the whole season.

"There is no point coming training. You can only see a certain amount in training but this way we can see him in games."
