Rangel - I want to stay

Angel Rangel is not planning on leaving Swansea despite being tracked by a number of clubs.

The 26-year-old Spanish full-back has been linked with a move to Wigan where he would be reunited with former mentor Roberto Martinez. But the former Terrassa player is happy at the Liberty Stadium and is looking forward to recovering from a heel injury in time for the new season.

"I still think I will be a Swansea player next season," he told Wales Online. "I spoke to the gaffer (Paulo Sousa) and he said that he wanted me here and I said that I wanted to be here."

He added: "There have been so many rumours over the last few weeks. But, as I have always said, they are only rumours and my mind is fully focused on Swansea.

"I have been training really hard and I haven't spoken to any other clubs. So, hopefully, I will be here and fit for the start of the season."
