Priskin to avoid ban

Watford manager Malky Mackay has confirmed striker Tamas Priskin will not serve a suspension after he was sent off in the 1-1 draw with Spanish side CF Balaguer.

Referee Sergi Cano Gazquez became the centre of attention when he sent Priskin off for dissent after Balaguer had equalised John Eustace's opener.

"I spoke to the referee afterwards and he recognised the situation and confirmed he would rescind the paperwork," said Mackay.

"It was interesting to see the vast differences in the way the two teams played the game and the referee struggled to adapt to the way English teams play.

"There were eight yellow cards in the match but I'm convinced that if it had taken part in England there would have been none."
