Peter Taylor will not be offering Carl Cort a contract at Wycombe.
The striker has been on trial with Wanderers for the past two weeks and had featured in three of the club`s pre-season friendlies to date, although he was not included in either of Saturday`s matches - a 2-1 defeat at Dover and a 1-0 victory at Eastbourne.
The 31-year-old has been handed the chance to continue training with the newly-promoted League One outfit, but Taylor admits there will be no deal in the offing.
He told the club`s official website: "At the minute I`m probably not going to do anything on that one. I`ve said to Carl that if he wants to carry on training with us then he can do, but at the moment I`m not going to be taking that any further.
"I`ve made my mind up that I`ve got to go for certain things and I`m not in a position to offer Corty what he`s looking for."
Taylor went on to insist a new striker remains on his agenda but he would not be overly concerned if he was unable to bring one in.
