Chesterfield have signed former Luton forward Drew Talbot on a two-year deal.

The 23-year-old, who was on loan at Saltergate during the second half of last season, arrives on a free transfer after reaching an agreement with the Hatters to terminate his contract.

Spireites boss John Sheridan said: "We have had Drew watched during pre-season and he has had a good pre-season and looks sharp."

He added: "I know about him and what he is capable of and I understand he did well when he was here last season.

"He can play in a variety of positions. He can play out wide or up front but he comes here as a striker and I am pleased to get him in."
