Coid worry for Blackpool

Blackpool defender Danny Coid may be out for a month after picking up a knee injury.

The 27-year-old, who has just signed a new two-year contract with the club, has a suspected fracture of his shinbone.

"If it is the case then he is very unlucky because it is very unusual," boss Ian Holloway told the Blackpool Gazette. "It's bad luck for the lad and for us."

The Tangerines' pre-season campaign has been tainted by injuries, with the absence of Daniel Nardiello and skipper Rob Edwards.

Gary Taylor-Fletcher is also a concern after picking up an injury in the 3-1 win against Carlisle on Tuesday night, stoking more talk of a new signing at the club.

"There's no doubt we are short at the moment and it's why it is so important to get players in," added Holloway.
