Spiller comes in as Wanderers lose out

Published Add your comment

Wycombe manager Peter Taylor has revealed former Gillingham midfielder Danny Spiller has joined the club on trial.

The Chairboys went down 3-1 at Bristol City in their latest pre-season friendly on Saturday and Taylor admitted he needs to tighten up his defence.

Winger Matty Phillips scored the goal for Wycombe as slack defending allowed Bradley Orr, David Clarkson and Ivan Sproule to score for the Robins.

Taylor said: "We played some nice football but there was a lack of communication at the back for their goals which we'll need to work on.

"I've brought in Danny Spiller on trial. He's been released by Millwall so we'll have a look at him this week."
