Grimsby have been dealt an injury blow ahead of the new League Two season with the news that Nathan Jarman faces at least six weeks out after breaking a bone in his foot.
The striker sustained the injury in the first half of Town's 12-1 friendly win at Winterton on Saturday.
"It's a blow for the lad. He's one who has trained very hard and he's a real competitive lad," Grimsby boss Mike Newell told the club's official website.
Meanwhile, the Mariners are among those clubs that have been given a bye in the first round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
