O'Neill hails Beye capture

Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill is confident new signing Habib Beye will be a big hit for the club this season.

The defender finalised a move to Villa Park from Newcastle last week, becoming their third summer signing after the arrival of Fabian Delph and Stewart Downing.

O'Neill told Aston Villa TV: "I'm delighted he's come. We've got a host of games coming up now with the start of the season and then European football.

"He can go forward, he's decent with the ball and I think for a 31-year-old he is incredibly fit. He seems to be in good shape."

Winger James Milner added of Beye: "He's another good signing. He's a good lad as well and another player with a good attitude."
