Colchester stayed top of Coca-Cola League One after a 2-1 win over Yeovil at the Weston Homes Community Stadium .

United, who thrashed Norwich 7-1 away last weekend, raced into an early lead through David Fox (9) and Ashley Vincent (18). Ryan Mason (82) netted a consolation for the visitors.

Charlton and Leeds both also have maximum points from two matches. The Addicks won 2-0 at Hartlepool with goals from Deon Burton (20) and Nicky Bailey (27), while Luciano Becchio (61) was on target as Leeds beat Wycombe 1-0 away from home.

Norwich sacked manager Bryan Gunn on Friday, but under caretaker boss Ian Butterworth, had to be content with a 1-1 draw at Exeter.

Jens Berthel Askou (52) headed the Canaries in front, only for Richard Logan (60) to quickly level for the hosts.

Gillingham thumped Swindon 5-0 on the opening day, but were on the end of a 4-2 defeat at Tranmere.

Ian Thomas-Moore (5 and 90) scored twice for John Barnes' side, while John Welsh (48) and Terry Gornell (73) were also on the scoresheet.

Curtis Weston (34) and Andy Barcham (54) had put the Gills level, but they could not hold out.
