McGugan goes under the knife

Published Add your comment

Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis McGugan will undergo surgery on his fractured cheekbone on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old sustained the injury a week ago as the Reds slipped to a 4-2 home defeat to Watford in the Coca-Cola Championship.

McGugan will be out for up to six weeks after the operation and will have to wear a protective mask for two months once he is given the all-clear to resume action.
