Steven Gerrard secured a 3-2 victory for Liverpool in the closing minutes after they had twice been behind to Bolton at the Reebok Stadium.

Ten-man Bolton looked like they were going to hang onto their first league point of the season. Twice the home side were ahead through Kevin Davies and Tamir Cohen, before they had Sean Davis sent off for a second bookable offence with 36 minutes left.

Liverpool, who had equalised in the first half through Glen Johnson, did so again through Fernando Torres before Gerrard's cracker settled the issue.
