Pearson happy with squad strength

Nigel Pearson insists his Leicester squad has the strength in depth to cope with losing key players.

The City boss is waiting on the results of a scan on midfielder Richie Wellens, who could face a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

"Obviously, you can make the assumption that losing him did have something to do with it, but we have to be able to deal with losing players, as we have done already this season," said Pearson.

"We lost Steve (Howard) in the game at Sheffield United. On that occasion we dealt with losing one of our starting XI very well. At Watford we didn't really do it. Whether it was a contributing factor I don't know, but it would be very easy to make that assumption.

"But I know we have enough depth to be able to deal with those situations."
