Arsenal are set for a very frustrating summer if reports are to be believed.Sure, they may have made some forward strides by securing the services of Sead Kolisinac and Alexandre Lacazette, but while the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil remain in the balance, boss Arsene Wenger may just be papering over the cracks rather than improving his squad.Hector Bellerin is another man that has been the subject of interest from his former club Barcelona and his future has not been addressed either. However, the contract standoffs don't stop with Sanchez and Ozil, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is another man that has only got 12 months to run on his existing deal. The former Southampton man has struggled to hold down a regular role at the Emirates Stadium but during the last third of last season he found a new lease of life as a wing-back in Arsenal's version of the 3-4-3 formation. He enjoyed some of his best performances in an Arsenal shirt and the England international started the FA Cup final victory over Chelsea, too. However, just as it seems as though the talented wide-man has begun to flourish at the club, it seems as though he has decided to move elsewhere.According to Sky Sports, contract negotiations between the player and the Gunners are at an impasse, with no new talks planned. The Ox is said to be left frustrated with the club's seemingly relaxed approach to negotiations and now, according to Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports, the "chances of him signing new deal are virtually nil".

Oxlade-Chamberlain, who turns 24 next month, has been a target for Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool this summer and would fit in well with their high-tempo, intense style of football.

How much it would cost the red half of Merseyside to prize the Ox away from north London with just 12 months remaining on his deal remains to be seen, especially since newspaper reports on Tuesday suggested Arsenal were confident of keeping him at the club.

Wenger said in April it was "vital" for Arsenal to keep Oxlade-Chamberlain, adding "it would be a big damage for us to lose this kind of player." In that case, the club better start taking talks much more seriously.
