Battleground is less than two weeks away and the match card is really beginning to take shape for the superstars of Smackdown live.

While the main event is clearly the Punjabi Prison match for the WWE Championship between Randy Orton and Jinder Mahal, the remainder of the card still boasts some impressive matches.

Going for the title

Following all of the drama and controversy surrounding the first ever Women's Money in the Bank ladder match, the women's division is just now returning to normality.

Naomi remains as the champion and Carmella holds the briefcase, but that still leaves five big names with no role in the division.

That clearly didn't sit well with the Smackdown women who approached Commissioner Shane McMahon regarding the current championship situation.

While Shane was talking with Naomi, Charlotte would take the chance to interrupt and she would soon be joined by Becky Lynch, Natalya, Lana and Tamina.

The five women would all claim to have the right to a Championship match and would force the Commissioner into making a decision.

McMahon would make his mind up quickly and announce a fatal 5-way match between all five women to take place at Battleground.

The winner of the match at Battleground will be given a chance at Naomi and her Smackdown Women's Championship at Summer Slam.

The segment would lead into a match later in the show in which Charlotte and Becky lynch teamed up to take on Natalya and Tamina.

Tamina getting the win for her team but the assist going to Lana certainly gives Tamina the momentum heading to Battleground.

Another high profile match made for Battleground and one with Summer Slam implications for the women's division - Battleground is quickly becoming a great show.

Big names, high stakes

The Punjabi Prison match will decide who will be the WWE Champion heading into Summer Slam and therefore who will be guaranteed a main event match at the event.

Whilst many people favour Mahal, the gruelling nature of the match could open the door to Mr Money in the Bank Baron Corbin.

Corbin is not one to let an opportunity pass him by so if Orton is able to cause a lot of damage to Mahal, then the lone Wolf could choose to strike.
