This invitation would certainly make for some interesting television. It seems that the world is being taken over by the biggest fight of the year not only in boxing but in MMA as well. The media tour to promote the upcoming boxing showdown between boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor kicked off on Tuesday (July 11th, 2017). It was a great opening to hype the upcoming fight that certainly has people’s attention. With such buzz that this bout has, WWE is looking to dip into it and garner some ratings as well as attention along the way. WWE is known to bring in various celebrates to pop a good rating or give a show more exposure than it usually has.

Triple H, who has learned everything business wise about pro wrestling from WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, is taking his promoting skills to another level. “The Game” has sent out an invitation to both Mayweather and McGregor, who will meet on August 26th in Las Vegas, Nevada on PPV (pay-per-view), to appear on an upcoming edition of Monday Night Raw on the USA Network.

If you recall, Mayweather has appeared on WWE programming before. Back in 2008, he did an angle with The Big Show at the No Way Out PPV in which he punched the WWE Superstar in the nose. They would later go on to have a match at WrestleMania XXIV that same year in which Mayweather won.

In the past, McGregor has flirted with the idea of appearing on WWE television as well as taking shots at various WWE Superstars. Despite all of that, the irishman has yet to make one appearance with the company.

Triple H wrote the following on his official Twitter account:

“Monday Night #Raw has plenty of LIVE microphones... #MayMacWorldTour@thenotoriousmma @FloydMayweather”

The chances of Mayweather and McGregor actually appearing on the show are very slim to none. It doesn’t make much sense for them to appear on the show due to them doing four press conferences and this being a mainstream attraction that will do huge business. Also, Raw is not the same show it was back in the Attitude Era or even five years ago. The ratings continue to drop and are averaging three million viewers per week.
