Shots fired at press conference

Dani Alves did apologise to Manchester City at his PSG press conference on Wednesday afternoon but ended up taking a dig at Pep Guardiola's side.

The Blues endured a trophyless first season under Guardiola and the Spaniard is under immense pressure to deliver silverware.

Dani Alves, on his reasons for choosing PSG over Manchester City: "I have come here to be a champion".

PSG were beaten to the Ligue 1 title by Monaco in May but - with far inferior challengers - do stand a much greater chance of winning the league.

Alves probably did not mean to take a dig at City but fans of their rivals were certainly enjoying his quotes.

Struggling to use the boring football jargon which we've become all to familiar with, Dani Alves also took a dig at Juventus.

Dani Alves thought there was only one club in Manchester

It's not the first time Dani Alves has inadvertently mocked Manchester City, telling press in 2014 that he didn't know the Citizens existed until they started spending big.

"I didn't realise until about five years ago that Manchester had two teams," said Alves. "Of course Manchester United have been one of the most famous and successful clubs in Europe for many years - but I thought they were the only one."

"When Manchester City got new owners and started buying some of the best players in Europe everybody knew who they were - but until then I must be honest I didn't know about them."

You can bet there will be no contract offer on the table at Manchester City when his time at PSG comes to an end.
