It looks like it might be a case of one-in, one-out for strikers at Arsenal this summer.

Last week, Alexandre Lacazette became the Gunners' club-record signing after joining from Lyon for £52 million but his arrival has lead to increased speculation surrounding Olivier Giroud's future.

Giroud only signed a new three-year deal in January but with next year's World Cup at the forefront of his thinking, he knows regular football is a necessity to secure a spot in Didier Deschamps' squad.

He has travelled with the rest of Arsene Wenger's team to Australia for their pre-season tour but openly admitted he could well be on the move before the new campaign kicks off.

"It (leaving) is an option to be honest with you," Giroud said.

“I’m here in pre-season, I wanted to travel. Some people asked me if I am going to travel or not. I am an Arsenal player and for the moment I am here.

"I just want to prepare well for the season and we will see later."

The 30-year-old has been linked with a host of other Premier League clubs such as Everton and West Ham but a more attractive offer could well be on the table in the near future.

According to The Mirror, German giants Borussia Dortmund are preparing to get in on the act with a surprising bid of their own.

Dortmund's current star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is widely expected to leave this summer, with a potential switch to Chelsea the latest rumour doing the rounds.

And John Cross states that Dortmund are considering Giroud as a possible replacement for the outgoing Aubameyang.

Previously, Giroud might have been content to join another Premier League side further down the table but it's hard to see him turning down a switch to Dortmund, who are now managed by Peter Bosz.

It is also a move Wenger is more likely to agree to as well as the Frenchman historically doesn't like selling players to Premier League rivals if he doesn't have to.
