After helping Chelsea win the Premier League title last season, their fan base received a scare during the international break following the end of their successful campaign as Eden Hazard picked up an injury.

The Blues star picked up an ankle injury while playing for Belgium during the international break in June, putting his status in serious doubt at the start of Chelsea's title defense when the new season begins next month.

However, the 26-year-old himself has provided Chelsea fans with an update on the status of his ankle, which is bound to give some sort of delight to the club's fans.

Inside the club's gym, Hazard posted a picture of himself using a cross-trainer onto his Instagram account, which you can see for yourself further down in this article, with a caption that has given some encouraging signs that his recovery is going well.

Hazard's picture caption reads: "A good week, my cast is off, now the lonely journey to full fitness! #cfc #hardwork"

Last season for Chelsea, the midfielder 16 goals to help Chelsea win their fifth Premier League title in club history, and will be needed once more next campaign if the Blues are to retain their crown.

Although it isn't clear exactly when Hazard will return to action for Chelsea, their fan base will be delighted with this promising update that his ankle is now out of a cast and he is able to do some sort of work on it.

Hazard could soon be receiving some help soon, as Antonio Conte looks to secure the services of defensive midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco, as well as a new striker to replace Diego Costa, who is likely departing this window after the Chelsea manager told him he was no longer needed.

Conte's initial choice for his new striker was Romelu Lukaku, but after that move was hijacked by Manchester United, he has now had to look elsewhere for a new goal scorer.

Possible players that could fill Costa's spot include Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata, Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Torino's Andrea Belotti, but there is competition from other teams across Europe for all three players.
