Arsenal has had one of the strongest starts to the summer transfer window in recent memory with two new signings, and so far, they have managed to stop their key players leaving as well despite having no Champions League football next season.

The Gunners have bolstered their squad with two new signings - defender Sead Kolasinac on a free from Schalke before the transfer window opened, and striker Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon on a five-year deal for a club-record fee of £46.5 million, which could rise to £52.6 million with add-ons.

Although they have no Champions League football for the 2017-18 campaign, Arsenal has managed to keep hold of midfielder Mesut Ozil and winger Alexis Sanchez despite growing interest from other teams in the league.

Another player that was rumoured to be leaving the club this summer was Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, with Liverpool interested in signing the midfielder according to reports.

However, Arsene Wenger himself has since spoken out about the future of the English midfielder at the Emirates for the coming season ahead.

He said, according to the Liverpool Echo: “Yes. 100%, I expect him to stay. No matter the speculation, he will stay.”

This is, of course, only Wenger determination of the situation, as Oxlade-Chamberlain may have other ideas, especially if he has any ambition of making the England squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Liverpool is reportedly interested in signing Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal in this transfer window and would be prepared to meet an asking price of around £25 million if the Gunners are willing to sell him.

Arsenal only has a year left to make their decision over the future of the 23-year-old, otherwise, they could risk losing him on a free next summer transfer window when his contract expires at the club.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been a part of the Gunners' pre-season tour, helping the team achieve a 3-1 win over Western Sydney Wanderers earlier today. He scored two goals with seven assists in 29 appearances in the Premier League last season.
