Grimsby manager Mike Newell has made his second loan signing in as many days, capturing Derby midfielder Arnaud Mendy on a one-month deal.

The 19-year-old Frenchman is highly-rated at Pride Park and will go straight into the Mariners' squad to face Rochdale on Saturday.

Meanwhile, young defender Bradley Wood has been rewarded for his progress with a four-year professional contract.

Wood made his debut for Grimsby against Darlington earlier in the season and has excelled in defence in the absence of the injured Robbie Stockdale.
