Earlier this week, UFC's Cris Cyborg sent out a tweet challenging WWE SmackDown Live superstar Becky Lynch to a match at SummerSlam later this year. Since then, the feud has been escalating to a point where it does look like the match will happen. This feud began when an exchange on Twitter between Cyborg and Lynch took place earlier in the week. The former Strikeforce Women’s Featherweight Champion responded to Triple H's invite of Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor to Monday Night RAW by saying he shouldn't let her anywhere near the SmackDown Live superstar as Ireland wouldn't be able to handle losing another star this summer.

Lynch responded to Cyborg by saying is she sure UFC's president Dana White will allow her to fight, as he doesn't seem to let her do much else. A few days later, the UFC fighter then sent out a photo on Twitter of a fan-made billboard of herself and the former SmackDown Women's Champion for a match at WWE's biggest party of the summer, saying if Ronda Rousey can't fight for WWE, she will.

The Irish Lass Kicker responded by saying she never backs down from a challenge. WWE has since followed this up with an article about their exchanges, increasing the speculation that a match could actually happen between the two at SummerSlam.

Since the release of the article, more exchanges have taken place between Lynch and Cyborg. The UFC fighter responded to the article by saying on Twitter: "I've heard others say they will get n the ring with me until it becomes real! then they give back the belt! @BeckyLynchWWE would do the same!"

Cyborg even posted the picture below on her Instagram with the following caption:

“#summerslam I hear @beckylynchwwe is willing to welcome #cyborgnation to the @wwe! Then maybe @tripleh can finally give the fans #rouseyvscyborg #wrestlemania”

The former SmackDown Women's Champion responded by saying on Twitter: "I'll take back my title, then I'll take her arm."

It wouldn't be surprising if WWE tries to get something out of this down the line, especially if Rousey is involved.

It was only earlier this week that Rousey appeared at WWE's tapings for the Mae Young Classic. She was part of MMA’s Four Horsewomen (Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir, and Jessamyn Duke) that faced off against WWE’s Four Horsewomen (Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, and Bayley).

We'll have to wait and see if there is any pay off from these exchanges on Twitter but, judging by WWE's reaction to it, they could be laying down the ground work for something to happen in the future.
