If Kenny Omega wants to sign with WWE anytime soon, he might want to stop taking jabs at their tournaments.
Last year, the WWE held its inaugural WWE Cruiserweight Classic Tournament in an attempt to revitalize the fallen weight class. The promotion brought in a plethora of Cruiserweights from around the world to compete in the tournament, and it proved to be a ground-breaking success that finally saw some of the best talents in the world get their shot at performing on WWE TV.
A tournament that started off with 32 men from around the world ended with TJ Perkins defeating Gran Metalik in the finals to become the new Cruiserweight Champion, and he would serve as the inaugural champ of the new division that was brought over to Monday Night RAW.

Shortly after the tournament's conclusion, a new show was implemented on the WWE Network exclusively for the Cruiserweights, entitled 205 Live which is currently fronted by new division champion and former NXT Title holder Neville.
One such man who was a part of the Cruiserweight Classic, however, and didn't get singed to a WWE deal following his participation was Kota Ibushi. Ibushi went on a tremendous roll in the tournament, making it to the semi finals before losing to TJ Perkins, finishing just shy of a finals appearance and the opportunity at becoming WWE Cruiserweight Champion.

Due to his obligations to the WWE, and various other independent promotions, during this time last year, Ibushi missed out on New Japan Pro Wrestling's (NJPW) last year's G1 Climax tournament. Although he's back to participate this year, Kenny Omega is not pleased that Ibushi missed out on last year's tournament and hopes to meet him in the finals to pay him back for abandoning him (quotes via Wrestling Inc.):
"After you left me all alone. To fend for myself. I never stopped training. I never stopped sacrificing. I never stopped feeling the pain, I never ran away like you did. So if you can make it to the finals, that's where I'll be waiting.
"And then finally I'll make you feel the pain, Ibushi. And I'll show you through my actions, everything that I felt while you were away - after you threw me away - to accomplish your own dream. Your own pipe dream of becoming a world famous CWC participant."
