David de Gea looks set to stay at Manchester United for another season, despite persistent rumours linking him with a move to Real Madrid. The world-class Spanish goalkeeper appears to be content at Old Trafford with the club back in the Champions League thanks to last season’s Europa League final victory over Ajax. Some United fans feared the recent news that Sergio Romero had signed a new long-term contract with the Red Devils was an indication that De Gea could be off. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case.Indeed, even Romero has told reporters this week that he’s desperate to see De Gea stay at United - even if it means spending more time on the subs bench."Since I came to this team, I said I need to compete with David because in that way we can keep the competition level high," the Argentine goalkeeper told ESPN. "I don't want him to leave. We are friends. And if he stays here, it will help me to be better."

Video: De Gea humiliates Pereira in training

However, United’s talented young keeper Joel Pereira might be less keen for De Gea to stay after being humiliated by his teammate during a Rondo in training this week.

We’re only joking, of course, but being on the receiving end of this cheeky De Gea skill must have hurt.

De Gea sends tweet to Pereira

Fair play to De Gea, though. He apologised (well, sort of) on Twitter after United uploaded the video.

Check out Lingard's reaction

United fans loved the clip, especially Jesse Lingard’s bizarre reaction.

Did you notice it the first time around?

He’s a funny lad, is Jesse.
