With just over a month to go before Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather clash in one of the most talked about boxing matches in recent history, experts in the boxing world are having their say as they try to predict the outcome of this eagerly anticipated clash.

Mayweather goes into the fight as an overwhelming favourite as he has overcome all challengers in a dominant boxing career, having recorded 49 wins and 0 losses in the sport.

And, despite having not fought for two years and also being 11 years older than his opponent, experts are still backing the American to prevail in the fight that has been dubbed the '180 Million Dollar Dance'.

Billy Joe Saunders, a British professional boxer who currently holds the WBO middleweight title, also advocates the idea that Mayweather goes into the fight as a heavy favourite.

Saunders, who like Mayweather is also unbeaten in his career having accumulated a record of 24-0 to date, is adamant that it will take some drastic circumstances for the Irishman to pull of an upset.

Speaking to TalkSport, Saunders said: “It’s impossible for Conor McGregor to land a glove on Mayweather. This will never, ever, ever happen.

“The only way something like this would happen [would be] if it was a big fix, and Floyd let him [McGregor] beat him.

“And that is never going to happen – there is too much legacy.

“It is just never going to happen."

Although very complimentary to both fighters for managing to generate huge sums of money from the fight, Saunders is unwavering in his belief that Mayweather's experience and talent would prove too much for his opponent.

“I’m confident enough to say that I’d be willing to let a surgeon cut my heart out, keep it alive and put a £1 bet on that Conor McGregor gets beat in five rounds.

“And if he don’t, then put a knife in my heart."

It is safe to say that the WBO middleweight champion is extremely confident that Mayweather will dispose of McGregor rather easily in their fight, which takes place on August 26 in Paradise, Nevada.
