Arsenal fans will have enjoyed the transfer window so far, but they must be counting down the days until it ends now.The Gunners have broken a club record with the signing of Alexandre Lacazette, while Sead Kolasinac should be another solid addition at full-back.The best thing Arsene Wenger could do now is to slam the doors shut. The summer was always going to be dominated by speculation surrounding the futures of key players.Remarkably, Arsenal have allowed Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all to enter the final year of their respective contracts.Sanchez's future has attracted the most attention, but losing any of them would force Wenger into a major rethink. There was a time when the potential departure of Oxlade-Chamberlain wouldn't have bothered Gooners too much. That will have changed over the last season, though, and they would no doubt dread to think what he could bring to Liverpool's midfield.
Ox teases Elneny
The Ox can create, he's dynamic, and he's powerful. It's easy to imagine him slotting into Jurgen Klopp's side, even if only as a squad player to provide back-up for Sadio Mane.
A move to Anfield should be a relatively easy transition too, as he already knows Adam Lallana, Jordan Henderson and James Milner from his time with the national team.
Liverpool fans have also been getting excited by him name-dropping Mohamed Salah after Arsenal's win against Bayern Munich on penalties.
Oxlade-Chamberlain was caught on camera winding up team-mate Mohamed Elneny post-match, telling him "now Mohamed Salah is the king of Egypt for sure".
It wouldn't be like football fans to get carried away:
Arsenal are reluctant to let him go, but are conscious that they risk losing him for nothing in a year's time.
There's no guarantee he'd get more game time at Liverpool. If he was planning to commit to staying in north London, he'd surely have done it by now, so it'll certainly be interesting to see what he does between now and the end of the transfer window.
Should Liverpool sign Oxlade-Chamberlain? Have your say in the comments.
