Mariners move for Lancashire

Published Add your comment

Grimsby have signed defender Oliver Lancashire on loan from Southampton to solve their defensive crisis.

Caretaker manager Neil Woods moved for the 21-year-old centre-back to fill the void left by the departure of Ryan Bennett to Peterborough, and injuries to Rob Atkinson and Matt Heywood.

The Saints defender has joined the Mariners on an initial month's loan and goes straight into the squad to face Bournemouth on Saturday.
