A former Ring of Honor talent is headed to WWE.

Chris "Donovan" Dijak will be joining the company. If you recall, he was one of a group of wrestlers that included Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly that WWE was interested in. However, they had to pull contract offers due to the legal threats from ROH back in January. O’Reilly and Fish have since joined WWE and placed in NXT.

During a recent appearance on the New Age Insiders podcast, Dijak stated that he would be finishing up his independent bookings over the next month. These will be the final events that he works for the various promotions.

Dijak, who is 30-years of age, played football and basketball at Division III Bridgewater State College. After he had finished up his studies, he was quickly picked up by ROH and won their Top Prospect tournament due to his size. He is a big dude as he is 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds.

Dijak’s contract with Ring of Honor expired back in February; he opted not to sign a new deal with the promotion, which is owned by Sinclair Broadcasting, due to receiving an offer from the sports entertainment company.

Since making that decision, his career has been on hold as he was waiting for WWE's time frame on offering him a deal again.

Dijak is scheduled to compete at PWG’s (Pro Wrestling Guerrilla) Battle of Los Angeles event on September 1 - 3 in California. This will mark his final indy date.

“There’s obviously going to be a lot of speculation as to what I’m doing. My future isn’t 100 percent completely set in stone at this point yet.”

After a promise of exciting things on the horizon though, Donovan was asked if he had any plans to attend Full Sail University, which is where WWE films NXT TV, and he responded by saying, “I’ve been to Full Sail University. It’s a wonderful place.”

This is a great signing by the company. He will likely be placed in NXT just like O’Reilly and Fish. It will be interesting to see how soon the company places him on television on the WWE Network and who he will be feuding with. The possibilities are endless for him and WWE fans should be excited about this signing.
