Jose Mourinho may have signed Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku this summer, spending more than £100 million in the process, but he’s far from finished.

After he led his side to a 2-0 victory over Manchester City in Houston on Thursday night, the Portuguese boss admitted that he expects Ed Woodward to continue to work in the transfer market ahead of the new season.

“The credit for Lukaku and Lindelof to be here on time is not mine but Ed Woodward’s and I thank him for that fantastic work to bring us two very important players," he said.

“But we need a bit more and when you see the other teams in the Premier League, the way they get players and good players and you see the Champions buy three fantastic experienced players.

“City go to the market and Liverpool and West Ham gets Joe Hart, Chicharito and Arnautovic, West Ham wow, they play to win the Premier League too.

“So the teams are fantastic in the market and I’m waiting for a bit more.

“Other teams can do it also, is not a critic or not understanding the difficulty of the situation.

“I understand the difficulty of the situation. The market is open until August 31 but I like to work from day one.”

But who else will be joining Lindelof and Lukaku at Old Trafford?

Well, they’ve been heavily linked with Ivan Perisic, while they’re also reportedly working on a deal for either Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic or Tottenham’s Eric Dier.

Who Pogba wants Man Utd to sign

But Paul Pogba wants his club to sign someone else.

According to the French edition of Goal, Pogba has been trying to convince the club’s hierarchy to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Serge Aurier.

The Ivory Coast right-back is good friends with Pogba and fell out of favour with Unai Emery at the Parc des Princes last season.

Aurier's future

As a result, Aurier has asked to leave the club - a request that has been rejected by Emery.

"I spoke with Serge to tell him that I wanted him to stay," Emery told L’Equipe.

"He told me that he wants to leave and he preferred staying in Paris to prepare for his departure.

“So, we signed Dani Alves, a very experienced player who has the spirit of a champion.”

Pogba is well aware of Aurier’s situation and is trying to convince United to snap up the 24-year-old. Of course, Pogba appeared to play a large role in getting Romelu Lukaku to join him at Old Trafford and could be given the responsibility to do the same with Aurier.

While Antonio Valencia had a solid campaign last season, he will turn 32 before the start of the season and has already been sent off during this pre-season for a rash tackle against Real Salt Lake.

Aurier would certainly provide ideal competition in that right-back position and Pogba is hoping his club make a move.
