The early betting odds for the WWE Battleground PPV (pay-per-view event) have been released.

The European market has set odds for the matches that will take place this weekend. There are seven matches that have been officially announced for the event.

Both The Punjabi Prison Match and The Flag Match have had odds available for weeks, but this is more extensive.

John Cena is currently favored at -1000 in his Flag Match against Rusev, who is a +500 underdog. All of this means that it would take $1000 bet just to win $100 if you chose Cena while if you chose Rusev, then you would have to have a $100 bet to win $500.

The reason for such big odds for Cena is due to this being his PPV return and the fact that the company isn’t behind Rusev since getting that unauthorized haircut.

The other top match on the card is the big Punjabi Prison match between WWE Champion Jinder Mahal and challenger Randy Orton. These two Superstars have been feuding over the last few months. Mahal is projected at -333 to retain the WWE Championship their trilogy match as Orton is a +220 underdog.

Newly crowned WWE United States Champion AJ Styles is favored at -300 to retain over Kevin Owens at +188. These odds are very similar to the odds for the WWE Championship match.

Meanwhile, for the SmackDown Tag Team Title match, The Usos are actually slight underdogs at +163 to the challengers The New Day’s -227. Just like their match at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view event, The New Day could win via count out or DQ, thus getting the win but not winning the championships.

Charlotte Flair is favored to win the Women’s Fatal Five Way to determine the #1 contender for Naomi’s Smackdown Women’s Championship over Lana, Becky Lynch, Tamina, and Natalya. The winner of this match will face Naomi for the championship at SummerSlam.

Switching gears to single matches, Shinsuke Nakamura is favored at -250 to beat Baron Corbin at +175. The idea behind Nakamura being favored is due to him needing a win whereas Corbin doesn’t because he would still have the MiTB briefcase after taking a loss.

The final two matches see Micke Kanellis vs. Sami Zayn at the most even odds of all the matches with Kanellis at -137 to Sami’s “even odds,” which would be +100, an even bet and Tye Dillinger is at -200 to Aiden English’s +150.

The Battleground pay-per-view event takes place this Sunday in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Wells Fargo Center and will air on the WWE Network and some traditional pay-per-view outlets. This will be an exclusive SmackDown Live brand event.
