It took a while but Manchester United and Chelsea both got their strikers.Romelu Lukaku signed for Man United, while the Premier League champions yesterday confirmed the arrival of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.Morata’s arrival only adds to the quality of strikers in England’s top flight - although plenty of fans on Twitter seems to believe the battle will be between the Spaniard and Lukaku.Morata penned an emotional letter to Real - the club he signed for in 2008 - and their fans after signing for the Blues.“I’m leaving home, because that’s how I feel about Real Madrid,” the 24-year-old wrote on Twitter. “I go with a clear conscience of who left their skin in each training (session), every minute I have been lucky to wear this shirt.“I only have words of thanks for Real Madrid. I am the player that I am now thanks to this club.”Morata arrived in London on Thursday and signed a five-year contract on Friday. As he wrote on Twitter, he will meet up with his new teammates in Singapore, where Chelsea play Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.

Morata trained on his first day

But Friday was more about signing and posing for photos. Morata even managed to get in a light training session with the Blues’ fitness coach Constantino Coratti.

Chelsea fans use Morata video to troll Lukaku

Chelsea posted a video of Morata completing some kick-ups, writing, “@AlvaroMorata was straight down to work,” and some fans are using it to mock Lukaku, who has a reputation for having a poor touch.

As one Man United fan pointed out, the criticism of Lukaku’s touch is unfair.

And this video proves his touch can be brilliant.

Mourinho responded to Morata move

Jose Mourinho’s response to Chelsea signing Morata was oh so Mourinho like.

"I am not interested in what Chelsea Football Club does, really," he said, per the Independent. "We needed a striker, yes. We needed with Zlatan (Ibrahimovic) in his best conditions, we needed one to give cover, to give options.

“I think it was obvious Chelsea would sign a striker, especially after the situation with the manager and Diego (Costa).

"It was clear that they were going to get a striker, they did it with Alvaro and Alvaro is a very good player for them."

No doubt Mourinho will become slightly more concerned if Morata makes a fast start when the season gets underway and Lukaku doesn’t.

Early signs are positive, though. The Belgian made it two goals in two games with a class finish in Man United’s 2-0 friendly win over Manchester City on Friday morning.
