Alexis Sanchez has been linked with a move away from Arsenal for months now but now it seems the reports are starting to turn serious. The Chilean has already revealed his desire to play Champions League football - something that the Gunners can’t offer this season - and looks set to leave the Emirates in the coming weeks."I have made my decision, but now the decision has to be taken by Arsenal,” he said last week.
"It depends on them. I have to wait to know what they want. My idea is to play and win the Champions League. It's a dream I have had since I was little.”
Both Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with the 28-year-old but Arsenal’s stubbornness to allow him to join a Premier League rival appears to have cleared the path for PSG.
As a result, the Ligue 1 club are set to make their interest concrete.
Now, we all know that the transfer prices in today’s market are pretty ridiculous.
Alexandre Lacazette cost £52 million, Romelu Lukaku cost £75 million and Alvaro Mortata cost £58 million.
So, how much is Alexis Sanchez worth?
PSG's bid for Alexis Sanchez
Well, PSG think they can get him for just £35 million.
According to Sky Sports: “PSG will make a £35m bid for Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez next week.”
£35 million!?
Ok, he may only have one year left on his contract but £35 million is a joke, surely?
Alan Shearer's reaction
Well, that’s what Alan Shearer thinks.
He reacted to PSG’s potential bid by tweeting: “£35 million!! Do they just want his left foot?!!”
Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.
Despite PSG’s interest and the fact they risk losing him on a free transfer in 12 months time, Arsene Wenger continues to insist that Sanchez won’t be sold.
"The decision has been made and we will stick to that," Wenger said of Sanchez.
"The decision is not to sell."
And that £35 million will do absolutely nothing to tempt Wenger to sell.
