Mohamed Salah has hit the ground running at Liverpool.Given the Egyptian’s tumultuous spell at Chelsea two years ago, there were expected doubts when the Reds broke their transfer record to give him a second chance in the Premier League.So far, though, those reservations have been quickly dispelled. And while pre-season friendlies can only tell you so much, Salah could hardly have done more to impress if he tried.

He began in style during a clash with Wigan Athletic where he opened his account for his new club. The 25-year-old slipped the ball home after Roberto Firmino had burst clear through on goal.

Salah continued to impress against Crystal Palace with a series of delightful touches and frankly frightening pace.

Well, the winger is at it again and Leciester City are the latest club to get an unwelcome taste of the new signing’s skill. It also showed early signs of a potentially fruitful partnership with Philippe Coutinho.

Liverpool had been trailing in the Hong Kong clash, though, after Islam Slimani opened the scoring with a sound backpost header.

That was until Salah played a delightful one-two with Coutinho, the latter of which chipping a delightful ball over the Leicester back four. Making an inspired forward run, Salah arrived in the box and headed home from eight yards out.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how a team move can cut open a defence in mere seconds.

It also displayed a skill for which Salah is hardly known – his heading ability – and it was a good finish at that. The 25-year-old has as many goals for Liverpool already as he ever amassed in the league for Chelsea.
