Philippe Coutinho is just a bit special, isn’t he?The Brazilian must go down as one of Liverpool’s greatest signings in recent years and has never dropped off the pace since his 2013 arrival. It’s no wonder Barcelona are chasing his signature. In fact, just this week, the Nou Camp side had a mammoth £72 million bid rejected for the midfielder’s services.

As a result, it’s clear just how much Liverpool value his services and with good reason at that. The 25-year-old has found the net 42 times in 182 outings for the club and has amassed countless assists on the side.
We perhaps shouldn’t be surprised then when we see Coutinho performing so well in pre-season for the Reds.
What has been most noticeable and pleasing for Liverpool fans is the partnership he has already forged with record signing Mohamed Salah.
The pair combined brilliantly in their friendly with Leicester City in the Asia Cup. Coutinho’s brilliant lofted ball over the Foxes’ defence allowed Salah to head home and level the game after Islam Slimani gave their opponents the lead.
However, it was Coutinho himself who completely turned the match on its head and in quite some style too.
With the game heading towards a halftime stalemate, the 25-year-old collected the ball on the left flank and attacked the edge of the box. With no Leicester players closing him down, the Brazilian released a trademark right-footed shot.
The result can be seen below:
Classic Coutinho. It may not be as top corner as some of his other highlight-reel strikes but few have been hit with such venom.
