Kurt Angle has given his opinion on WWE releasing Austin Aries.

The WWE Universe is still coming to grips with the release of the former WWE Superstar. For a quick recap, WWE released Aries from his contract earlier this month.

He signed with the company back in 2016 and last appeared on television in May on 205 Live on the WWE Network. It's been reported that he was frustrated with his position in the company and wanted to be moved out of the Cruiserweight division.

It was reported by Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter that neither the other cruiserweights nor the writers were unhappy to see him gone. Aries is under a 90-day non-compete agreement attached to his WWE contract, which expires on October 5, 2017.

He can still work independent dates during the next few months until his WWE deal expires and will continue to collect his downside guarantee from WWE until that point.

His contract terms with the company are similar to a WWE-decided release. When he first signed with WWE, it was reported that his contract was for three years, which means that WWE could have locked him down until January 2019.

WWE Hall of Famer and RAW General Manager Kurt Angle recently did a Q&A session with fans on his Facebook account. During the Q&A, he was asked about Aries’ release.
"I'm sure that neither side was happy. Austin is a very, very talented wrestler. Love his style."

On this past week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Angle made his big announcement, which ended up being that Jason Jordan was his illegitimate son. During the segment, Angle broke down in the ring and started crying as he embraced Jordan. A fan asked the WWE Hall of Famer how he got into the mindset of playing the part so well.

"I thought to myself what it would be like to see my son Kody for the first time ever, and didn't know it for 20 years. I thought if it were real, how would I feel?"

Throughout this storyline, he has worked a lot with Raw commentator Corey Graves, who first brought the news to Angle. When asked about his relationship with Graves, Angle stated, “Well... we are both from Pittsburgh. Corey always has the inside scoop on everyone. I think that's his role on camera now. He's a great announcer, but I'm sure the company wants to utilize him more.”
