It’s safe to say that Seth Rollins is determined regarding his goals.

The WWE Champion recently called out future WWE Hall of Famer Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for a match at the company’s biggest event of the year, WrestleMania. It seems that each and every year, there is speculation regarding The Rock possibly appearing at the event.

We noted earlier on the site that during a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer took fan questions.

When asked if The Rock would be available to wrestle at the upcoming event, Meltzer noted that he didn’t know if there are plans for the WWE Champion to be involved in next year’s event. He brought up how there are many factors that could prevent him doing a match or even making an appearance.

This gives an insight into the situation. Fans have to keep in mind that insurance reasons are the primary factor as to why The Rock has not been an active competitor at the event over the last few years.

If you recall, he was injured during his match with John Cena at WrestleMania 29, and there were setbacks to filming the Hercules movie. It all comes down to this, if The Rock does wrestle at the event and get injured, then that would jeopardize his film projects which are more important to him right now than pro wrestling.

Meltzer would go onto say that if The Rock has a project going on around the time of WrestleMania 34, then it’s doubtful that he will wrestle in a match of any sorts. However, if The Rock is not filming a movie, then there is a chance that he could wrestle at the upcoming event.

Rollins recently did an interview with Delaware 105.9's Rob Petree on Eagle 977 to help promote an upcoming WWE live event. This was when Rollins took the opportunity to call out The Rock.

"Obviously Rocky [The Rock], he's a little busy these days, he's doing some Hollywood things, doing some movies, making TV shows, all sorts of good stuff. If the opportunity came about, I would have no problem taking on The Rock at WrestleMania, sounds like a good time to me."

Rollins went one step further by stated that he could beat the former WWE Champion.

"Oh, absolutely, I'm in the prime of my career right now. The Rock, he's past his prime, he's had his day, he's an old man at this point in time. I'm young, and youthful, and vibrant. I'm ready to go."
