If Liverpool are to make a push for the Premier League title this season, it’s imperative that Philippe Coutinho stays at the club.

The Brazilian has attracted interested from Barcelona, with the Daily Mail reporting that the Spanish giants have made a €80 million bid.

Jurgen Klopp is building something exciting at Anfield and selling Coutinho would simply set them three steps back.

The playmaker, 25, played in a midfield three in the Reds’ 2-1 victory over Leicester City this afternoon in the Premier League Asia Cup final.

The arrival of Mohamed Salah has appeared to signal a permanent shift to midfield for Coutinho, a position where Klopp clearly believes he will have a bigger influence over the game.

And that became painfully obvious on Saturday afternoon as Coutinho ran the show.

He provided the assist for Salah’s goal and then went on to score the winner.

It’s claimed that Barcelona view Coutinho as the perfect replacement for Andres Iniesta and it’s easy to see why they would value him that highly.

He showcased an array of qualities against the Foxes, including his passing, dribbling and skills, and produced a fine finish to seal the win.

One fan on Twitter, LFCMostar, has compiled Coutinho’s best moments in a video that makes for impressive viewing. Check it out below.

No wonder Barcelona are prepared to pay a significant sum to sign him.

Another video, this one made by MrBoywunder, shows Coutinho and Salah already appear to be on the same wavelength.

Klopp insists Coutinho is happy at Liverpool

Klopp eased the concerns of every Liverpool supporter after the match by insisting that Coutinho loves the club and the city.

“Everybody knows Phil Coutinho is a key player for us, no doubt,” Klopp said, per Liverpool’s website.

“I know that he feels completely more than fine, comfortable, whatever, in Liverpool. He loves the club, loves the city, all that is clear.

“That he is able to play like tonight in a very, very difficult moment of pre-season after all these sessions is good to see and shows his big potential.”

With Coutinho playing behind a front three of Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, it’s not wrong to suggest Liverpool possess the most dynamic attacking group in England.
