There are reports he’s agreed to sign for the French club, while Marca claim Neymar’s Barcelona teammates have convinced him to stay. It’s impossible to keep up.The Brazilian was probably happy that he could focus on something other than the rumours when Barcelona took on Juventus in the International Champions Cup in New York last night. The 25-year-old could have been excused for not quite being entirely at the races, the speculation has been that intense. But that wasn’t the case. Neymar was simply exceptional, running Juventus ragged with two goals in the first half. The first goal was nice, but the second goal was simply magical.Neymar opened the scoring in the 15th minute when he turned home following a one-two with Paco Alcacer.

Valverde dismissed the speculation

Neymar’s goal is further evidence of why PSG are prepared to smash the world record transfer fee in order to sign him.

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde has dismissed speculation linking the forward with the Parisiens.

“Neymar is with us and we absolutely want him to stay here. The rest is just rumours,” Valverde told reporters before Barcelona’s match against Juventus, per Eurosport.

"This is a time for rumours.”

Valverde hasn’t even spoken to Neymar about his future.

“We've talked about other stuff such as tactics and other stuff,” the Spaniard added.

“It's a player we love and we want. Not only football-wise, but also the things he brings to the locker room."

Barca have no need to sell

The Daily Mail claim Barcelona have grown tired with Neymar’s extra-curricular activities, which include partying with Justin Bieber and Lewis Hamilton, and fear he could go down the same path as Ronaldinho.

But that would seem a pretty weak reason to sell the player considering what he’s capable of on the pitch.

Barcelona don’t need money. What they need is talented, quality players, and Neymar proved against Juventus that he deserves to be considered as one of the top five players in the world.
